Ask somebody to video you performing your pieces for each competition you have entered.
Videos should be in landscape view and the sound should be as clear and uninterrupted as possible.
You can use a mobile phone or video camera to record your video.
Try to have the upper half of your body in the frame showing you playing your chanter or bagpipes.
Try to keep the recording as steady as you can.
When you start recording your video, hold up a piece of paper with the competition code, your name and your competitor number written clearly in a black marker pen (e.g. [CHB] Gordon Duncan #9), then you can start your performance.
If you need to re-record your performance you should stop the recording. Then start recording again and hold up your piece of paper again. Only one "take" can be accepted per video competition entry.
You must make a separate video for each competition you are entering.
When you enter the competition we will send you some Dropbox links to use to submit your videos to us.
When you have recorded your entries you can use the Dropbox links for the appropriate competition to upload your recorded video competition entries to us. Please note there is a different link for each competition.
When you use the Dropbox link you will be asked to enter your name and email address. Please use the name and email address you entered with. You will then be prompted to browse for the video to send us. You can do this from your mobile phone or from a computer.
The judges will then review all the performances and award prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places.
After the results have been announced, you will be sent your crit sheet.
The society hope to stream some of the performances on their Facebook page.
